Renovation continued right up until the day we had to leave for our cross-country trip.

First, we needed to get all the cabinet doors painted and re-installed. Just four days before departure, it was finally time to lay down our vinyl wood floors. Thankfully a family friend who’s had lots of floor laying experience came to help and teach us how to install. We purchased 150 square feet of CoreLuxe Vinyl Flooring from Lumber Liquidators for our tiny space. While there wasn’t much floor space, the corners were tight and there were so many strange angles and cuts to make.

Once the floors were in we had just two days to clean up our mess and put everything back together.  The dinette and couch had to be put back and place and then we quickly packed for our big trip and loaded it all in.

We worked our butts off this month – and we’d only planned to just do a little painting. Just goes to show a DIY renovation is full of surprises! We were ready to get going on our first trip with our new home. But there were quite a few surprises coming even before we left town.
