We did it! We are officially RV owners.

It’s still sinking in that this little travel trailer will soon be our home sweet home.

We browsed online and at a few RV dealerships over the past few months, and we’d settled on what we were looking for in our future travel trailer. It was a matter of time before a used one with our requirements came available for us.

We knew we wanted around 30 feet of space. This allows us to get into more national and state parks and isn’t too large for towing considering we’ve never towed anything before. We needed bunks in the back for the girls and one slide out for the dinette and couch to give us a little more living space.

This 2004 Treasure Ship Galleon popped up in the Facebook market place and we decided to make the 1.5 hour drive out to Keyser, WV to take a look. We knew pretty quickly that this was the one.

In great shape and actually ready to travel if we wanted, we decided to take the plunge!

Thankfully the owner agreed to deliver the trailer to us, because those West Virginia mountain roads would not have been the best first drive for us newbies.

The RV is currently parked across the street from my parents at a family friend’s home while they’re out of state for a few weeks. We’re ready to start renovations – just a little at a time here and there while we make a few short trips over the next few months.

Stay tuned for lots more videos and blogs about our DIY renovation on this RV – we’ve got big plans on how to make this homey for our travels around the US next year.
