In June, we spent two full weeks in the Boston area, camping at the Gateway to Cape Cod Thousand Trails campground. While we typically don’t camp that long in one place, we took the time to recharge after hitting Hershey, Philadelphia and New York State in a quick succession. It was also the first time in a long time that the pool was open at our campground, so we enjoyed a few pool days as well.
Of course, we didn’t just come to relax. With Boston and Plymouth less than an hour away, we explored the two cities, visited friends we had not seen in a while and even decided to go on a Whale Watching Cruise.
Since we love cities, Boston was the highlight attraction. We took a day to wander through sites along the Boston National Historic Park, learned about the events that led up to the Revolutionary War on a guided tour, the girls earned their first Junior Ranger Badges and we had a wonderful (an expensive) Italian dinner at one of the oldest Italian restaurants in the North End.
While many people love RV living because of the wonderful natural attractions that it allows you to explore, we have really enjoyed the east coast and all its cities. It’s nice to know that these a lot more to the RV lifestyle than just The Great Outdoors.
